We will:

Never use frames, nor will we intentionally use browser-specific functionality¹. If you find that we've broken our promise, please send feedback using the link at the bottom of the page. Feel free to use Lynx -- we took the time to test it to make sure it works.

Never use excessive graphics on our site. We will display logos for organizations that provide critical components of our infrastructure. We will always do our best to give credit where credit is due. If we break this promise, please be assured that it was not intentional and send us a reprimand using the feedback link at the bottom of the page. We can't fix the things we're not aware of.

Never support banner ads¹ on this site and we will not use components that require them. You will see links to the sites of respected organizations that provide useful software independent of its licensing strategy. We believe that the Open Source movement has allowed us to cut costs considerably, making the purchase of good and reasonable commercial software more viable.

Never set cookies with or without your permission; your hardware belongs to you and we have no right to muck with it.

Never attempt to gather information about you with the following exceptions:

• Our web server keeps a log of each page requested along with the IP address of the host that submitted the request. We use this information solely to determine whether we have any configuration issues on our site.

• We maintain a hit counter so we know how many times a particular page has been loaded. We normally do not track the host that requested the page. Note howeber that all of our pages have a small transparent hyperlink in the lower-left corner to entice email address harvesters to our dynamically generated fake url page. For hits to that page only, we retain every piece of information we can about the requestor.

Always open a new browser window whenever a hyperlink takes you to a page outside our site¹ if your browser supports it. For ease of identification, the title of all pages hosted by this site will bear the title 'Open Source Rocks!'. We will never embed another site's content within the content of our own pages.

We will never use white lettering on a black background. We want you to actually be able to read our content and read it easily. All of our pages follow the style you see here. If you find it difficult to read, please send feedback using the link at the bottom of the page. Personally, we believe our choice of colors and fonts will be easy on everyone's eyes.
